Jean-Paul Barreaud

"Jean-Paul taught me a great deal, not only about the history of Sicily but also about organizing exclusive and unique trips.

He trained me, and thanks to him, I have become who I am today. He continues to support me in creating unique experiences for you. His knowledge and contributions are invaluable."

Jean-Paul Barreaud

Historian & Lecturer

Jean-Paul Barreaud is fundamentally a receptive tourism professional whose passion for culture and history led him to become a guide and then a lecturer. His career, shaped by his experiences both in France, where he was born, and in Italy, where he spent his childhood, reflects this union.

When you listen to him, you realize that the two cultures merge, despite the distinct lifestyles celebrated by each country. With such a predisposition, Sicily and its uniqueness could only captivate him, beginning with its geopolitical role throughout history, not to mention the Mafia, whose persistence remains a mystery as it serves as a medieval thorn in the side of modern societies.

In 2019, Jean-Paul celebrated thirty years in Sicily, where he has become a recognized expert, participating in TV programs such as Thalassa, Secrets d’Histoire, and M6 Magazine. He is the historian for the film Sicile islamique by Boualem Gueriti (2015). An author of several articles and a contributor to guides like Le Routard, Géo découvertes, and Évasion, he has written two monographs on the Palermitan churches of S. Marie de l’Amiral and the Immaculate Conception. As a consultant for ENIT Paris, he has supported numerous reports in Sicily for magazines such as Marie Claire Maison, Elle, and Figaro Magazine.

Under the brand "Sicile dévoilée," he has been consolidating all his productions—documentary films, press articles, books, guided tours, and lectures—for the past ten years.
